This technical assistance supply center is funded in part by a cooperation agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The NORTHWEST PTAC Commission is a business tool that allows businesses in our area (Pennsylvania Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties) to track and maintain government work more competitively, including core work and outsourcing at the federal, state, and local levels, by providing information, possibilities and technical assistance. The Northwest PTAC Commission is a member of the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC). The Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) was approved by Congress in 1985 to increase the number of companies able to participate in the government market. The program, managed by the Department of Defense, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), provides appropriate funds for the establishment of Technical Assistance Supply Centers (PCCs) through cooperation agreements with public and local governments and non-profit organizations. In collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), our PTAC is intended to help companies market and sell their products and/or services to the DoD, other federal agencies, and public and local governments.
